Iplexus Clearinghouse
Iplexus is one of many web-based companies that accepts electronic claims files for commercial, and non-commercial carriers such as Medicare, Blue Shield and Medicaid. You have the ability to send claims either via the web or through a toll free dial-up. You are not obligated to use Iplexus as your commercial claim clearinghouse. Any clearinghouse that accepts the HIPPA compliant 837 claim file can be used. Regardless o which company you choose, it is their obligation to teach you how to use their web based interface. So be sure that have the ability to train you. Medical Databases will assist you with creating the file, checking for errors and other tech support issues, but each company has their own specific interfaces and protocols.
 
Costs
Fees continue to change. However, as of 10/1/2008, the monthly cost for unlimited commercial claim submissions with Iplexus is $60. To submit non-commercial claims, such as Medicare, may have additional cost.
